Attention Students: All juniors and seniors with a cumulative grade average of 3.5 and above are invited to apply to the Loy Norrix Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Applicants must attend one of the two information meetings.  The first meeting is at 7:00am on Wednesday in Mr. Allen’s room (A-19) and the second meeting is Thursday after school in Mr. Porco’s room (D-9).  Again, applicants only need to attend one of these meetings to get the needed information about the application process.  Student with questions may see Mr. Porco after school.

The day is almost here for the Pumpkin Painting party, as it is next Tuesday, Oct 24th.  Come paint one of 400 pumpkins and receive an extra credit coupon which the value of it will be decided by the teacher you give it to.  Come make a difference in the lives of many individuals in need in our community.  The National Honor Society will deliver them.

Seniors, Southwestern MI College will be here on Monday, Oct. 23 at 1:30 for a visit. Please stop by the Counseling Office to sign up.

After School Chemistry Labs will be held once per month from now until May!  Our first lab will be on Thursday, October 26th from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.  Anyone is welcome, even if you have not had chemistry before.  Please see Ms. Weaver in K-17 or Ms. Witt in C-19 for your ticket into the lab!  If you just show up on Thursday without the ticket you will not be allowed in.  Come join us for lots of chemistry fun including bright colors, wonderful scents, explosions, and creating stuff you can use.

AAC will meet Monday through Thursday this week.  Testing room will be open on Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 in K12 Ms. Layton’s room.

Loy Norrix ladies, are you interested in exploring computer science?  Join Girls Who Code!  No experience is needed; you don’t need to be an expert to try it!  See Mrs. Leineke in room B-21 for more details.

Art/Anime Club will meet Friday October 27 in room A-12 from 2:39-3:30pm.  Bring Halloween treats and a friend.  

Seniors! Please add your input into our 2018 senior Video for our graduation ceremony. Check your student email account for the email with the google forms link from Mr. Aguinaga, and fill out the 3 questions. We want to make the video something to remember!

Information on ski passes for Timber Ridge are in the Athletic Office and must be filled out and returned by November 20th.

International travel looks really good on your resume for college.  How would you like to travel to either Japan or Europe next summer, earn 3 college credits for free and have a really fun vacation? If this sounds good to you, go see Ms. Van Lieu  in A-12 for the enrollment packet.  Scholarships apply until the end of October.  The next big fundraiser is coming up and we want you to share in the profits.

Seniors, are you looking for money for college?? All seniors planning on attending college should complete the FAFSA.  Counselors are hosting a FAFSA Night on November 2nd from 4:30-6:30.  Please sign up in the Counseling Office.

Attention Seniors:  Michigan State University will be here for an on-site admissions on November 2nd. You must have applied to MSU online by October 27th.  Please sign up in the Counseling Office.

Would you like to win a $500 scholarship towards travel to Japan or Europe? Better get down to A-12 and find out how to enter from Ms. Van Lieu.  If you are already enrolled you too can apply.  This can be used for the down payment on your trip of a life time.  Don’t delay.

Peacejammers with cars that can help move the pumpkins into school- your help is needed beginning at 2:20.  Please meet Mrs. May by her door next to the C-wing computer lab to help move the pumpkins into school.

Did you miss informational meetings about going to India this coming summer?  If so see Mr. Allen or Mrs. May to find out more about our pot luck dinner/informational meeting next Thursday, Oct 26th.

Want to help this Sat at Loy Norrix or need community service hours?  Come help the Peacejammers as they clean the grounds of Loy Norrix from 10:00 to 11:30.  We will meet by the tower area and clean up all 20 acres.

What to make a difference in the lives of people in our community that need some cheering up? Come to the Pumpkin Painting Party tomorrow Tuesday, Oct 24th and paint a pumpkin.  To get your extra credit coupon you will need to give it away to one of 42 local agencies.  The National Honor Society will deliver them.

Freshman- want to begin to earn Prom Points for our Prom in 2021?  A great way is to take prepaid orders for holiday wreaths and garlands.  The top salesperson will earn a free t-shirt or hoodie! Orders are due back to Mrs. May this following Wed.

With just 5 seats left for our annual shopping trip to Michigan City and Chicago, don’t be left behind.  If you haven’t submitted your payment this must be done or students on the waiting list will take your spot.  Again, reserved seats are completed with a signed permission slip and payment given to Mrs. May.
