The class of 2019 will be having a meeting held in Mrs. Stettens room this Tuesday, November 7th from 2:30- 3:30. Everyone in the class of 2019 is welcome to come and listen to our ideas and too add any new ones.
Are you a poet, photographer, artist, singer or spoken word poet? Do you want to help get the word out to help end the stigma related to mental illness? Meet in Ms. Layton’s room, K12, Tuesday, November 14th at 2:30 for an interest and planning meeting for the Loy Norrix Mental Health Awareness Arts Event. We’re looking to plan a community event to end stigma and celebrate the strength of those living with mental health issues. Please see Ms. Layton if you have any questions or look for the green flyers around the building.
AAC will be open Monday-Thursday this week. Please remember that you MUST be in AAC before 2:40. Monday the testing room will be open in K12 starting at 2:30.
If you have been collecting coins for children in developing countries in the orange United Nations Treat or Trick boxes- it is time to bring them to Mr. Johnson or Mrs. May.
We will have a coin rolling party for those that participated this Friday, November 10th afterschool in C-12 Coach Johnson’s room.
Travel Club is still signing up students interested in either the Japan or Europe trip. Scholarships are available and our first big fundraising event will be November 16. There will be a parent information meeting on November 14 at 7pm in A-12. Pick up enrollment packets near the cafeteria or Tower area. 3 free college credits could be yours. See Ms. Van Lieu in A-12.
Now that it is cooler and getting cold the class of 2021 would like to invite you to purchase a generic Loy Norrix long sleeved hoodie or a pair of sweatpants to keep warm and show your school pride. Order forms are available on Mrs. May’s door next to the C-wing computer lab. Most sizes and colors (Navy or gray) are available and will not have to be ordered. They can be personalized with your class year or name for an additional fee.

Seniors: Please add your input into our 2018 senior Video for our graduation ceremony. Check your student email account for the email with the google forms link from Mr. Aguinaga, and fill out the 3 questions. We want to make the video something to remember!
The Urban Folk Art Exploratory is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide a voice to the hip hop community while advocating for social change through the arts. We are currently looking for interested students to expand our youth advisory committee and audition for the company playgroup. We are looking for dancers, poets, musicians, actors and visual artists. All students are invited to join a poetry slam fundraiser on November 10th from 6-8pm at 112 W. Winter sports tryouts dates are coming soon. Do you have all the requirements met?

Don’t miss out on being able to play a winter sport, Stop in the Athletic office during your lunch or before and after school to pick up the forms and return then as soon as possible. If you don’t make team the $25.00 insurance money will be returned.
The tour of Loaves and Fishes, Gospel Mission and the Kalamazoo Deacon’s Conference will be this Thursday, November 9th.
Do you have extra towels and blankets at home that you would be willing to have Peacejammers take to the Gospel Mission and the Deacon’s Conference to be given to homeless and individuals in need? If so please give them to Mr. Johnson in C-12 or to Mrs. May by the C-wing computer lab by next Thursday
Come join the Loy Norrix Choir in the auditorium on Friday & Saturday, November 10 & 11 at 7pm. for a cabaret featuring songs from Broadway musicals. You’ll hear music from musicals such as Annie Get Your Gun, The Sound of Music, Dear Evan Hansen, Newsies, Hamilton, Pippin, and more!
Featuring Mixed Chorus, Advanced Mixed Chorus, Master Singers, our featured dancers, and a number of solo and small group acts, there’s something for everyone in this show! Desserts at intermission are included in your ticket price!
Tickets are $5 for students, staff, and senior citizens, and $10 for adults. Tickets will be available at the door.
