Your AP Scholar for today is Kiera Kelly! Kiera is a senior & has successfully completed AP Psychology. Kiera’s AP class made her to realize how intense her college classes will be next year & she has developed better time management skills to help with the workload. She would definitely recommend AP Psychology since learning about how the human mind works was really interesting. Kiera has applied to Wayne State, Ferris State, KVCC, & Southwestern MI College. She plans on studying Nursing.

have qualified for the first trimester Academic Pep Assembly.  The assembly is today

Your AP Scholar for today is Wyatt Atkins. Wyatt is currently a junior, has successfully
completed AP US History, & is currently enrolled in AP Psychology.  He feels his AP
classes have helped him focus on & prioritize his school work. He would recommend AP US History & AP Psychology since you can learn interesting info that can be used in life. Wyatt plans on applying to Davenport, Lake Superior State University, and Ferris State University to study international business.

Your AP Scholar for today is Zhi Tian Wee! Zhi has successfully completed AP Biology & AP Chemistry. She is currently taking both AP Calculus & AP Psychology. She feels that her AP classes have set a good foundation for the more rigorous classes she’ll take in college. Even though it is one of the harder AP classes, she would recommend AP Chemistry because the material is interesting & she learned a lot. Zhi has been accepted to WMU & KCollege, she has also applied to MSU. She is undecided on what she would like to major in.

Your AP Scholar for Today is Alina Offerman! Alina is a senior and has successfully
completed AP Psychology & AP US History. She is currently taking AP Chemistry & AP Calculus. Since the course load of AP classes is similar to a college class, Alina feels better prepared for college next year. Her AP classes have also helped her manage her time & workload more efficiently. She would recommend all of the AP courses she has participated in because of the opportunity to create lasting relationships with funny & amazing teachers. Alina been accepted to Michigan TEchnological University, Albion College, Kalamazoo College & has also applied to the University of Michigan. She plans on studying biochemistry with a concentration in neuroscience.

Today is the last day for our 2017 Food Drive. The food will be picked up by Peacejam
Food Drive Coordinators before the day ends.  If you have more to bring please have
your teacher contact Mrs. May.

If you need community service hours- come to the library afterschool today and help us
put the food drive baskets together.  We will stay until all 100 baskets are complete.

Your AP Scholar for today is Diego Sandoval! Diego is currently a senior & has
successfully completed AP Spanish. Diego’s AP class has helped him become more
comfortable with the expectations of college level classes & has helped him become
more confident. He would definitely recommend AP Spanish since the class is well
paced & Ms. Holmes makes learning fun. Diego is planning on attending WMU next
year & is undecided on his major.

Your AP Scholar for today is Alex Johnson! Alex is a senior and has successfully completed both AP Psychology & AP Language & Composition. Alex feels like his AP classes have prepared him for college since the grading & deadlines are more rigorous. He really enjoyed both AP Lang & AP Psych. He feels AP Lang helped him polish his reading & writing skills, while he really enjoyed studying the mind in AP Psych. Alex has applied to WMU, Northern Michigan University, Lake Superior State University, & Ferris State University & is undecided on his major.

The athletic office still has several awards students have not picked up, so if you played a fall sport and were unable to attend the Fall Sports Awards night on Nov 29th, please stop by the Athletic Office before or after school or during your lunch to pick up your award.

Chess Club meets Wednesday in room D10 from 2:20-3:30.  Anybody may attend, and Mr. Bellware will make a customized chess board for any student who beats him.

Class of 2020 will have an executive board meeting today, Tuesday 12-12 after school.

Interested in philosophy? The Metaphysics Club will have their next meeting Monday December 11th, after school 2:30-3:30 in M13, Mr. Labadie’s Room. Come listen to a U of M graduate and lecture specialist speak on the philosophy of reality and the mind.

It is not too late to join the Travel Club trips to Japan or Europe.  You could earn 3 free college credits while having a great vacation.   Wednesday, December 13th in room A-12 at 7 pm there will be an information meeting for students and their parents.  The trips are in summer 2018.  See Ms. Van Lieu in A-12 for enrollment packs.

Attention students taking the items to the refugee center:  The day and time has changed from Friday afterschool to Saturday morning.  We will meet in the back of the C-wing at 9:45 to gather all the clothes and toys and will car pool to the center.

Your AP Scholar for Today is Victor Moss! Victor is currently a senior & has passed AP US History & AP Language & Composition. He is currently taking AP Spanish. Since the workload is heavier in AP classes Victor feels that they have helped him manage his time more efficiently. He would recommend AP classes since you have the potential of earning college credit.  Victor would specifically recommend AP Lang because you learn to be a more analytical reader & skilled writer.  Victor has applied to Michigan State University, The University of Michigan, & Kalamazoo College, & hasn’t decided what he will major in.
