The men’s and women’s track teams competed in the regional meet at Lansing Waverly last Friday. Both teams had multiple scorers that contributed to their teams’ success. Breonia Robinson earned medals in the 100 and 300 hurdles with personal bests in both. Three out of the 4 women’s relay teams also scored. Alexa Davis also ran well in the 400 and 800 but fell short of the state meet by one place. Nuru Lewis also scored in the 400. On the boys’ side, 3 of the 4 relay teams also scored and missed the state cut by less than a half a second in each! Lee Jones also just missed making the state cut in the 400 by a tenth of a second, running his best time of the year.  Joe Meyers will be competing in the state meet because his 9:31 in the 3200 was good enough to meet the qualifying time. Zach Skinner will also be joining him at state meet in pole vault. Zach vaulted 15 feet which earned him the regional champion title, the new school record, and qualified him for the national meet in North Carolina this summer! Congratulations to everyone who competed this past Friday.

All track athletes need to report to practice today for season wrap up and to see who qualifies for the MetroHealth meet of champions on Wednesday and decide travel arrangements.
