Detention slips are delivered to students who have lunch or after school detentions.  If you receive a slip for a lunch detention, that slip serves as your pass to leave class 5 minutes early if you need to get a lunch from the cafeteria.  You should be first in line and get your lunch quickly, in order to report to B-11 or D-15 within 5 minutes of the start of the lunch period.  Failure to arrive on time, may lead to an after school detention being assigned.

You need to turn in signed Code of Conduct form (once per school year)
You need to turn in Consent Form (Once per season)
You also need to be passing 4/5 classes to be eligible.
All needed forms can be picked up in the Athletic Office.
If you need an Athletic Physical, try Hometown Urgent Care. They are open 7 days a week.
You can’t tryout without all of your information submitted and grades checked. 
No excuses, no exceptions- Be prepared to participate!

Attention Juniors/Seniors that were invited to apply to the National Honor Society – If you did not attend either of the meetings this week, Mr. Porco will have a final meeting today after school in his room (D-9) to cover the information on the application process.

Attention Peacejammers going to the Homeless Dinner at 1st Presbyterian Church (next to the Civic Theater) today- plan to meet there at 4:45 in a Halloween costume.  Bring some Halloween candy, chips or pop.

Green School meeting will be held after school today in Mr. David’s Room: B-14 @2:30. We wanna see you there! There will be snacks.

Loy Norrix’s League of Legends squad re-entered the win column last night in dominant fashion with a win over their opponents from Perry, MI. The Knights leapt into action almost immediately and never looked back, defeating their opponents in less than 30 minutes in both games. Each game was highlighted by spectacular teamwork from John Bigcal, Josh Driz, Jesse Leyva, Ben Sierra, and Jake Tran. For more eSports action, tune in to the Loy Norrix Twitch channel tonight at 7 PM as our #7 Rocket League squad streams their match. Don’t miss any of the action!

Hey you! Yes, you… with the face…You should come to see the Loy Norrix Improv Team, Lambda Nu perform their first show today, Tuesday, October 23rd at 6pm in J12. For only $4, you will laugh, maybe cry and definitely have a great time! Survey says-BE-THERE.

Loy Norrix’s Overwatch team was in action last night against their also-undefeated opponents from the McCallie School in Memphis, TN. Despite a strong showing in both games, the Cavalry fell for the first time this season, two matches to none. Tune in to the Loy Norrix Twitch channel tonight to see our League of Legends team try to bring home the W as they take on their opponents from Perry High School in Perry, Michigan.

There will not be a MLK quiz bowl meeting today.

Juniors and Seniors, you will have an opportunity to vote in the 2018 Mock Elections today.  Juniors will be called down by last name during 1st and 2nd hours and Seniors will be called down buy last name during 4th and 5th hours.  This will give you a firsthand experience using the ballots and booths just like you would in a real election. Students will be expected to go straight to the Auxiliary Gym and return to class as they complete their ballot.  Teachers, please only send those students who are called.

On October 24th from 5-7pm in the library, RAWK will be offering a workshop for individualized feedback on their college application essays. This is an excellent way to ensure your success! Travel club 2019 journey to the British Isles and Paris will close enrollment by October 31st.  If you are interested in traveling and earning 3 free college credits please make sure to get an enrollment packet from Ms. Van Lieu in A12 or Mrs. Lewis in C15l   We will have a group meeting on Oct 23rd at 7pm in room A12 for all who are enrolled and any interested new members.

Attention ALL Seniors: Now is your chance to visit Michigan State University. We will be touring the campus and attend a presentation on Tuesday. November 13th.  Please sign up in the Guidance office. This trip is open only to seniors. There are 33 seats available to the first 33 seniors to get there permission slip turned in.

Seniors, would you like assistance with your college personal statement or scholarship essay writing?  Read and Write Kalamazoo is offering free, quality one-on-one writing assistance.  The events are being held Oct. 23rd and Oct. 24th from 5:00-7:00 and Oct. 27th from 10:30-12:30.  For more information, please stop by the counseling office.
