Reminder to all mens basketball players that you will be dismissed from class at 1:30 today to catch your 1:45 bus to Lakeshore. A roster of names will be emailed out to teachers so please keep an eye out for that email.

Looking for some excitement to start this first week back from winter break? Come on over to Wings West for Loy Norrix Student Night! Bring your current Loy Norrix ID to the gate you will be admitted for Free.  Cheer your Kalamazoo United Hockey team to a win against Portage Central on Wednesday, January 9th. The game starts with the puck dropping at 7:30. .  The “Knight” force on the ice is comprised of Berkley Cox, Maxwell Byrd, Sean Mason, and Gavin Pittman, Parker Remelius, Nolan Tribu and Josh Schaefer.  Good luck guys!

There’s going to be a meeting for the Young Democrats of Loy Norrix Club this Friday from 7am till 7:30am in Ms. William’s room A-14. All are welcome to join.

Softball open gyms will be every Sunday from 3-5 pm starting on Sunday 1/13. See Coach Johnson in room C12 if you have any questions.

CIS is looking to start up a Grief/Loss Counseling group in January.  The group will be 4-8 students and will meet once a week.  If you are interested please come see Mr. Baker or Ms. Naz in the CIS offices in the B-Wing.

Save the date for the last regular dance of the year- WINTERFEST 2019 which will be on Friday, Feb 8th after the basketball game.

Save January 19th for the MLK Celebration Day at Western Michigan’s Bernard Center/BroncoMall from 8:30-to after lunch.  You will have a MLK, Jr. Celebration, presentations about going to college and a fabulous lunch all for FREE.  More details will follow or get a flyer with info about it by the Peacejam Showcase!  Don’t miss out on this annual event!

Your AP scholar today is: Julienne Alphonse!  Julienne is a senior & has taken AP Biology & is currently taking AP Chemistry.  She feels her AP classes have prepared her for the workload of college classes. Her success in her AP classes has helped her to feel more confident in her other classes & push herself more academically.  She would recommend AP chemistry because the subject is interesting & encourages curiosity. Julienne has applied to KCollege, Michigan State, UofM, & WMU.
