The Loy Norrix Choir is proud to congratulate Chris Aranda, Brooklyn Moore, Hannah Newhouse, Aaron Self, Zoe Shanahan, Ryan Tipton, and Jordan Torres. All seven students auditioned for and were selected among the top choir students in the area for the Southwest Michigan Vocal Festival (SWMVF) Honors Choir. They will perform on stage at WMU’s Miller Auditorium on Thursday, March 14.

Green School will be meeting Tuesday after school at 230 in B-14. Hope to see you there!

Softball conditioning begins this week. We will meet in the weight room Tuesday’s and Thursday’s until March. Also, There are only 2 more softball open gyms. We meet on Sundays from 3-5 pm.

Gradpoint will be held after school in room k5w, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. 

This week there will be AAC on Tuesday and Thursday.  There is NO AAC on Monday or Wednesday.  Thursday, February 14th will be the next testing room.

It’s February, and you know what that means… Valentine’s Day is almost here!

Are you looking for a fun, thoughtful, and unique way to show someone you care? Then let the Loy Norrix Choir take care of that for you. We’ll sweetly serenade your special someone or your friends with a Singing Valentine during classes on February 14.  Singing Valentines cost just $3 for a song and a Hershey’s kiss, or $5 for a song and a full-size chocolate bar, and they can be purchased during all three lunches. The WinterFest Dance “Way-Back Winter Knight” is the last dance of the year open to all students. The dance will be after the basketball game next Friday and the tickets are $5 at lunches, from a 2021 executive member or from Mrs. May. Tickets at the door will be $10.

Attention graduating Seniors!  If you have interest in speaking at your commencement ceremony, you need to sign-up in room B-18 by Thursday, February 28th.

Do you like doing tricks at the skate park? Have you done gymnastics before? Are you interested in trying something new? We are looking for more people to learn the thrilling event of pole vault this track season. Anyone interested should see Mr Schmidt in B17 or Mr Duckett in the gym. You can also meet after school any Tuesday or Thursday at the 4 corners. The sooner the better. This event is fun but takes time to master.

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors. The third 90 Network Program is looking for 10 students who are highly motivated, positive attitude, make good grades, work well in a team setting, responsible, and not afraid to try new things.  The Third 90 program gives students an opportunity to participate in meaningful projects in environmental sustainability along with college faculty and college students. The team will make 2 visits to the Kalamazoo Nature Center, 2-3 college campus visits and 2 after-school workshops.   If you are interested please pick up an application in M14, Mrs. Young’s room. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, February 15th.

If you would like to add your serious fun face to the ones in the cafeteria – donate a quarter and get one from your teacher.  Please write your name in the smiling lips and it will be hung up in the cafeteria but you will helping children that are terminally or seriously ill in developing countries around the world. We have collected $305.18.so far as a school, Mr. Wagner’s class is in first place with $112 and Mr. Rashad/Mrs. May’s clas is in second place with $90.64.

Attention Students:  Do you have an interest in being a pharmacist?  A representative from Ferris State University’s school of Pharmacy will be here on February 28th to talk about this exciting career.  Please sign up in the counseling office no later than February 25th!

Attention Seniors:  An important deadline is approaching! March 1st is the deadline for submitting the FAFSA as well as many scholarships.  Don’t delay!  Ask your counselor for more information.
