Do you need community service hours?  If so there are some to earn by helping us put the food baskets together after school today in the library from 2:30-to when they are all done.  If you need hours please bring your sheet with you.

There will be AAC on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of this week.  No AAC on Wed.  There will be testing room on Thursday in K12.

On Tuesday, December 18th there will be a junior class of 2020 meeting after school in room D14 by the library for executive board members.

Do you love to game? Are you excited about the new Smash Brothers game out on the Switch? The Loy Norrix eSports club is hosting a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament in the library on Tuesday, December 18th, right after school in celebration of the new game. Come out and test your skills against the best competition in the school. Prizes will be awarded to the top two finishers in the tournament. We hope to see you there.

The Anti bullying club will meet Tuesday December 18 in room D-11 from 2:30-3:30

MLK Book Quiz Bowl members – we will not meet this Tuesday due to the Food Drive but come and help get baskets to the cars for those teachers helping to deliver. It is mandatory that everyone meets this Thursday.

Grad Point will not be held after school this week.

Your AP Scholar for today is: Nmeso Nnebedum.  He is a senior & has has taken AP Psychology & is currently taking AP Literature. Nmeso feels that taking AP classes will help him prepare for the workload of college classes & have helped him manage his time & school work more effectively. He would recommend AP Psychology because it is fun & the content is interesting. He has applied to Spring Arbor, Concordia, Siena Heights, & Lawrence Tech & plans on studying Health & Exercise Science.

Attention Key Club Members. The next Key Club Meeting is today, Thursday, December 13th in Ms Nelson’s room K10.

The National Art Honor Society will have its first meeting today at 2:30pm in room A-12.  This Society is open to Juniors and Seniors who are interested in d scholarships for study of fine arts and careers in design.  Contact Ms. Van Lieu for further information.

Your AP Scholar for today is:  Ebube Okpechukwu! Ebube is Senior & took AP Biology & AP Language & Composition her junior year.  She is currently taking AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, & AP Psychology. Since the workload of AP classes is similar to college classes she feels better prepared for college next year. Her AP classes have helped her manage her time better & have challenged her. She would recommend taking both AP Lang & Calc because they are useful & prepare you for the SAT. Ebube has applied to WMU, UofM, MSU, Ferris State, Wayne State, & Ohio State & plans on studying pre-med.


We are also highlighting AP Teachers during the months of December & January. The first AP teacher we are featuring is Ms. Brianna English! Ms. English teachers AP Language which is is a non-fiction reading and writing course. In the course, you’ll read a diverse group of authors writing in a variety of non-fiction modes, including essays, nonfiction novels, reporting, and memoir. The course will push you to be a better writer, focusing on your growth in analysis, argumentation, and synthesis. You should consider taking the class if you’re a hard worker who wants to become a better writer and thinker. You’ll gain college-level reading and writing skills and be part of an interactive classroom community. Ms. English enjoys sewing my own clothes, playing soccer, traveling around the world, and making bad jokes.

Tonight at Wings West in a league game against Kalamazoo Eagles at 6:00 pm.

And Tomorrow at Wings West in another league game against Southwest Michigan Blades at 7:30 pm.  Come Cheer Berkley Cox, Maxwell Byrd, Sean Mason,Gavin Pittman, Parker Remelius ,Nolan Tribu and Josh Schaefer to a win both nights!

SSR is 2nd hour today.

AAC will be today and Thursday.  Bring work to complete and be in C21 before 2:40.  Testing room will be on Thursday.  

Please remember to return or renew your library books. Other students would like to read them. You will not be charged as long as we get the book back. 

Reminder to all 2018  Boys Tennis Team members: The End of season Team Dinner and Awards Night is tonight, Tuesday, Dec11th from 7-8:30 pm @ Blue Dolphin restaurant.

The Women’s varsity team plays at  6:30pm and the Men’s varsity team plays at 8:00pm. The student section is going to be Christmas theme!

Today, Wednesday, December, 5th in the 4 Corner’s Conference room will be a Holiday and Prom dress give away.  Ladies come and see if there is a dress that you would like to have during your lunch time.

Green school will be meeting today after school in room B-14. We will be discussing the current status on our environmental initiatives around the school and taking care of bottle recycling. We would love to see new faces! Teachers should put their bottle bins out after 5th period today.  Hope to see you there!

Chess Club meets today from 2:20-3:30.  Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware wins a customized chess board.
